They are a seasoned warrior and loyal servant to Mindflayer.
Location
Beastmasters are one of two kinds of mini-bosses that can spawn in Mindflayer's dungeon. Several Tamed Darkhounds will also spawn with them.
The other type of mini-boss are Husk Brutes.

Strategy
Similar to other humanoid NPCs, this will depend on what weapon (and stance, if applicable) they spawn with. In general though, their low stun resistance can make a hammer an effective choice.
