ABOUT VELOREN Veloren is an open-world, open-source multiplayer voxel RPG written in Rust Language. The game is in an early stage of development, but is playable. It is inspired by games such as Cube World, Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Dwarf Fortress and Minecraft. Veloren is fully open-source, licensed under GPL 3. It uses original graphics, musics and other assets created by its community. Being contributor-driven, its development community and user community is one and the same: developers, players, artists and musicians come together to develop the game

DEVELOPMENT Development began on May 28th, 2018. The project roughly follows a three month release cycle where each "stable" release serves more as a milestone than a stable version. Communication for the project takes place on the Veloren Discord server. Development is broken into different working groups. A smaller group of core developers has the final say on what is included in the game and a group of admins moderates the community. Team leads organize the work within each group.

History

Veloren was created when Zesterer created a post on the Cube World subreddit about creating a clone. Many people were dissatisfied with the slow progress of Cube World and a Discord server was made the same day.
